Goldarnit!

Since I haven't updated my personal Web site in I don't know how long, I figured it was time to give up on it (too much work) and go with something simpler, like a blog. Here I can post random thoughts, review movies and TV that I've seen, and post photos as well as link to my flickr page and whatnot.

So once I decided I'd start myself a blog, I wondered what the heck I was going to write about for my very first post. And now I know. I try to keep a unified Internet identity by using Wootini as my screenname for as much as possible. However, when I tried to get wootini.blogspot.com, I found it was already taken. By some jackhole who posted twice in 2005 and gave up. And all the combinations of my actual name were also snagged. Sometimes by someone who posted once and never again, and other times by someone who apparently reserved the name for themselves and then proceeded to never use it. Nice. Thanks for that, jerks.

Hence the extra e in the name. If I can't be Wootini, I will accept Wootinie. Which I find crazy, because the whole point of choosing the name was that it was a nonsense word so no one else would already have taken it. Ah well, the best laid plans, right?
